I'm 27 years old and I would like to share with you the way I was saved by the grace of God.
When I was 14 years old I left my home to work in another place, because where I lived there were not any jobs. One had to move somewhere else to find a job. I'm from Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico and my family is very poor. We worked six months in Culiacan and then we had to move somewhere in the United States for another six months. My childhood wasn't very stable. When I was 14 years old I decided to go to work in Sonora, Baja, California, and eventually in the U.S. While away from my home I turned to drugs and alcohol. I did that for about 13 years because I was looking for some peace and love inside; but I found myself with emptiness inside me and I became sad that my life would always be the same. Eventually, I turned to read the Bible. I liked what it said in John 16:33 because it was the kind of peace I was looking for. I also liked Romans 10:9-13. After I read those verses in the Bible I prayed to God. I asked Him to let me find His kingdom. I told Him that I believed that Jesus Christ was His Son and that He died so He could forgive me. I asked Him to forgive my sins and let me be one of His sons. I had never talked to God before, but I slept well that night. About two weeks later I met a sister in the Lord that had taken the wrong bus, while I had missed my bus. We started talking and she asked me if I believed in God and if I liked to read the Bible. After we talked for a while she invited me to visit her church and I accepted. When I got home that day I thought of the funny way we had met and I realized that God had answered my prayer. I decided to start a new life in the local church where this sister met. I was baptized about a month later and start enjoying Jesus Christ as my Savior!
